Luminescence: In Our Nature

Marvel at the wonders of technology and our natural world in Luminescence: In Our Nature. This all-hours public art installation has seen a bouquet of eight tall, organically styled sculptures take root on the front lawn of Melbourne's Hellenic Museum, using dichroic optical filters to cast coloured light around their environment in both day and night. Developed by Skunk Control for the Hellenic Museum, the installation reflects upon the ancient Greek legacy of scientific advancement through the magnificent forms of Australian native flora and fauna – inspiring a sense of wonder and respect, and illuminating the importance of continuing to steward our natural world. Luminescence: In Our Nature is a public art installation activated from 8AM–midnight daily and is free to view outside the Hellenic Museum at any time. This project has been supported by the Melbourne City Revitalisation Fund, a partnership between the Victorian Government and the City of Melbourne.
