Fore! Well, six actually… six supreme Greater Hamilton golf courses. For the golfing enthusiast, the self-proclaimed pro and everything in between, here are six of our favourite courses that are sure to be a hit
1. Hamilton Golf Club
Set on a sprawling 146 acres, the Hamilton Golf Club features an 18-hole course winding and weaving its way around thousands of flowering gums and wattles. In a relaxing and peaceful environment, swing and strike your way around the 6,070 metre course. Enjoy a bevvie and bite afterwards at the club’s bar and bistro.
2. Parklands Golf Club
The Parklands Golf Club is a sand-scaped, 18-hole course that offers patrons a predominantly flat run with some short hills spread throughout. Established in 1972, the course is locally loved and maintained by a group of tee-rific volunteers. Also featuring a clubhouse, locker rooms, bar and pro shop, we just know you will love Parklands as much as we do.
3. Grampians Golf Club
Sculpted straight from its natural bush setting, the Grampians Golf Club is nestled at the base of the mighty and majestic Mud-Dadjug (Mount Abrupt). A short drive from the township of Dunkeld, the 18-hole golf course provides spectacular sweeping views of the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park. Open all year round, you will love sharing the course with kangaroos, wallabies, emus and an abundance of birdlife.
4. Mooralla Golf Club
Golf among the gums at the locally loved Mooralla Golf Course. Abutting the west side of the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park, the 9-hole course has been laid out along the edge of Victoria Lagoon where towering ancient red gums thrive and animals love to roam. A picturesque 15-minute drive from Cavendish, the Mooralla Golf Course extends for 5,452 metres.
5. Balmoral Golf Club
Offering challenging sand greens and undulating fairways, the Balmoral Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course carved from natural bushland. Located enroute to Rocklands Reservoir, the golf course and surrounding land is home to a vast array of spectacular native plants, birds and lively wildlife. Set up camp at one of Rocklands famed campgrounds and make a golfing/fishing weekend out of it!
6. Coleraine Golf Club
With tree-lined fairways and rolling hills, the Coleraine Golf Club is an immaculate 18-hole course that stretches for 5,141 metres. Strategically designed, bring your A-game and enjoy a well-deserved bevvie at the clubhouse bar/bistro afterwards.
